The remarkable Rockbay Foley makes the headlines this week (Tueday-Monday) for the fastest run in the second round of the Irish Laurels.
Kieran Lynch’s 81lb black is an absolute Cork specialist and has the four fastest 525s of the year including a 28.00 run back in April.
Some better quality racing back at Shelbourne and none more impressive than Droopys Biker in the Champion 550. There was a notable run by Good News’ half brother Good Lad in an unraced stake at Waterford. At Youghal, the 19 month old Waynes Machine clocked the fastest sprint of the year with Ardera Banner doing something similar over four bends.
At the other end of the age scale and with nothing of particular note at Enniscorthy this week, the nomination goes to the slowest, but considerably oldest winner on the card, the Oct ’12 whelp Blacksmith Ace.
The performance of the week though goes to puppy Blame The Game who clocked the fastest 400 of the year at Dundalk, surpassing crack open racers Dorotas Del Mar and Monleek Dakota.
