The Gold Collar victories of the outstanding Whoops Jack in the Gold Collar at Shelbourne Park and the Grand National win for Offshore Bound at Cork which has probably been running as well as anywhere on either side of the Irish Sea.

Elsewhere Uncle Wexford won an unraced stake at Enniscorthy. On Friday night, Kingsmill Bella was breaking 24.00 for Romford’s 400m while sister Kingsmill Sprite was clocking a very respectable 28.75 at Waterford
On the subject of young dogs, Laughill Blake has been a regular name on these lists in recent months, a flying start for a young sire. This week he is represented at Dundalk by Courtlough Cindy and at Limerick by Putumunder. His two year old son Portmageewiseguy earned his own claim to fame with a fastest sprint of the year at Tralee – in December!
The performance of the week? Surely it has to be puppy Third Choice. Damian Maginn’s black clocked 28.29, just 12 spots off the fastest time of the year at Dundalk.
