He might have fallen short in the Irish Derby but De Lahdedah riminded Shelbourne punters of his quality with a fabulous 27.78 run in the second round of the Time Greyhound Nutrition Juvenile Derby. It was the fastest time since Ballymac Araminta’s 27.70 four years ago.
A track record is always going to be flagged up, especially when it is one of the significant ones and when the clock is not so much broken as obliterated. In the heats of the Irish Cambridgeshire, Scott Phelan’s Threesixfive took four lengths off the Limerick 750 course best.
At Waterford, Easy Razzle clocked the quickest 525 run since Droopys Curio set the track record of 27.94 three years ago.
Team Holland had a fabulous four-timer at Cork on Saturday headed by puppy Jacktavern Bolt completing his domination of the Kasco Derby. But a mention too for the hugely popular Swords Rex who went even quicker on the undercard with a 28.17 run.
