The Other Kobe equalled the fastest 550 of the year when landing the fastest of the four Boylesports Irish Derby quarter finals on Saturday.
A year ago Jennifer O’Donnell’s black went out in the first round and was beaten in the Plate Final as litter brother Born Warrior went on to claim the big prize. This career best 29.15 was identical to De Lahdedah’s third round performance though the Buckley runner was back a couple of lengths on Saturday.
Thursday night saw Carrick Aldo lead from box to beam in the €20,000 Irish Sprint Cup Final at Dundalk. The David Murray trained brindle has won seven of his nine races to date.
His 20.80 was the fastest 400 of the year in a meeting that also featured the quickest 525-Fire Time (28.33), and 575-Stella Sparkle (31.07).
