The semi iinals of the Shelbourne Champion 550 took place on Saturday night though both winners were usurped by Scaglietti who clocked the fastest time over the Derby course this year with a 29.42 run.

The opening round of Kilkenny’s Champion Unraced Stake produced the three fastest 525s of the year, headed by October pup Droopys Doughnut with a flying 28.65.
At Drumbo Park, October puppy Fair Joe clocked the joint fastest sprint of the year. While Sober Speed produced the quickest 570 yard run at Thurles in two years when winning in 31.34.
