After a few quiet weeks, Shelbourne Park was back at the centre of Irish racing with victory for Ballinabola Ed in the €15K RPGTV Open 600 final. Pat Buckley’s Bens Teddy took the fastest of the Open 550 heats. The supporting card also included a buckle between Ireland’s two fastest sprinters with track record holder Gizmo Cash seeing off Flashing Willow.
At Tralee on Friday night, Ballymac Opera clocked the fastest time in the second round of the Lee Strand Stakes.
One to look out for is August pup Miami Patrol, fastest of the week at Enniscorthy in just his second race. The 72lb black is from the next litter out of the dam of Coolavanny Aunty, Global Prima and Coolavanny Arnie.
There was a fabulous run at Dundalk from Avocas Joker in just his second career outing. The 80lb fawn became the first hound to break 21.00 for the 400 yard course in nine months.
