Vincenzo led the way in the second round of the Irish St.Leger at Limerick with a 29.48 run. This is the dog with 29.27 and 29.30 form over the equivalent trip at Shelbourne.
Speaking of which, the Pestana/Unlock Unlock litter continued to impress in Dublin in the first round of the National Puppy Stake (for many year known as the ‘Comerford Cakes Puppy Stake’).
In heat 2, Undisputed beat sister Up The Style in 28.05. In heat 3, Undulation beat sister Press Unlock in 28.42. Another sister Succession failed to qualify.
At Galway, Rafa Moho took seven spots off her own 525 yard track record with a 28.20 run on going that was rated -10. She beat Bockos Melody by almost 12 lengths!
Last Sunday Lilywhite Queen, one of two adults in the final, took full advantage of her age and experience to land the Munster Juvenile Cup at Clonmel in 28.52. We would argue that puppy Droopys Shaun, giving away seven months in another sweepstake final, deserves the acknowledgement after another final in 28.74. (Well done to Queen’s connections but has there ever been a more pointless invention than ‘juvenile’ events?)
