A fabulous night from Shelbourne Park where Coolavanny Hoffa clocked the fastest time in the Irish Derby quarter finals, a time only bettered once this year (29.13), by the same dog.
Ballinabola Ed reminded racegoers of his class when only one spot slower despite a hefty first bend bump. Away from the Derby, there was also a fabulous 575 run from Magical Kuba, just 12 spots outside the track record.
Elsewhere there was a fastest times of the year over 375 and 575 yards at Drumbo on Saturday. On the basis of regularity of races over the distance, the selection is Newline Donal for the sprint.
On a slow track, there was also the fastest 750 of the year at Limerick for Magical Poppy.
Last but not least a Munster Oaks success for Clogheen Lass with a flying 28.15 (FOY) run at Waterford.
