The first round of the Irish Leger was spread between Thursday and Saturday night at Limerick.
Quickest of the twelve winners was Pat Buckley’s Scarty Yank in the first heat.
At Shelbourne Park, Scooby Duchess won the quickest semi final of the Puppy Oaks in a tricast for Droopys Sydney who also had the winner of the second semi, Glory Katy. On Friday night it was 19 month old Deadly Showtime who took the limelight.
Four bend track records are always going to get a mention and this one goes to Quill Minstral who set a new best for the 500 yard course at Derry.
The Munster Juvenile inevitably throws up some high class pups and none impressed more in the first round than Magical Mary, previous featured following her 28.10 win on debut at Limerick. Another mention too for Dixie who took her record to nine wins from 12 races with another very quick run at Galway.
