You might expect that the first line of this week’s feature would relate to the Laurels semi finals at Cork. While due mention should be made of the fastest semi final winner One Time Only (28.33), he was actually outshone by Long Santiago in an A3 confined stake who went 10 spots quicker when winning by 13 lengths.
On a slow and wet Shelbourne Park, Droopys Gloss landed the Junenile Derby Final though the run was bettered by the younger Twoinarow (making it an unbeaten four-in-a-row) on the same card. Allforthebest landed the €5,000 600yard final.
At Mullingar, Ela Supremo continues to do his mum proud in the Fair Warrrior Sprint. At Clonmel on Friday, 17 month old Crafy Kokoro was the fastest of five Droopys Sydney winners on the 10 race card. At Enniscorthy, admittedly running quite slick, Rains Confident clocked the fastest 575 in more than three years. There was also a FOY for the Leger trip at Limerick with Minaun Flyer beating his PB by one spot.
