A heavily weather affected round-up this week with a whole string of tracks cancelling due to the heat.
The biggest meeting was at Shelbourne where the joint fastest 550s were recorded in qualifiers by Jackslittlething (Champion Plate) and Deadly Destroyer (Champion Stakes)
At Dundalk, Agent Stanley was marginally the quickest qualifier in the second round of the Irish Sprint Cup. But the ‘performance award’ has to go to 21 month puppy Good Cody once again, as he was just two spots slower. At the other end of the scale, Abigails Sky’s 28.84 was the fastest run of the week at Galway, but five year old Tiger Roll was only two spots slower.
We don’t like duplication of performances, with the exception of Shelbourne Park (due to the sheer volume of racing), but it is impossible to split Oneforthelake and Beaming Scarlet whose 31.05 runs for the Limerick 575 yards were the two quickest runs over c&d since 2013.
