All eyes were on the €7,500 Champion 550 Final and the Corn Cuchulainn €10,500 Corn Cuchulainn decider. Both went to Droopys Jet offspring with Deadly Destroyer landing the four bend decider and Priceless Jet finally delivering on his undoubted ability. (‘Delivering’ was his previous racing name BTW).
Elsewhere, the Irish Sprint Cup is the biggest event taking place. There were 13 first round heats at Dundalk on Saturday. Despite the presence of some of the biggest names in racing, it was John Kennedy’s Produce Stakes fourth Good Cody, who was both the quickest and youngest of the winners.
There are still comparatively few ’20 whelps among the winners. The only one at Clonmel was Callmesteve who, coincidentally, clocked the fastest 525 of the week.
