The second round of the Ladbrokes Easter Cup was completed on Saturday and it was the Kennedy family’s Billys Diva who stepped up on his 28.04 (525) form in the National Puppy Stake to outshine some of the more established stars in 29.47. The week’s best run by a pup came the previous night with 22 month old Navy Blue. (Check out the dam – Lenson Blinder, Slippys Cian, Skilful Sandie!). Overall, it was also a very good week for sire Good News too!
The most prestigious final of the week came in the Rural Hawaii Unraced at Clonmel where the previously featured 18 month old Jackslittlething fulfilled his promise of the earlier rounds in a decent 28.52. Meanwhile in the Juvenile Classic at Tralee, John Linehan’s Broadstrand Ryan – a half brother to Droopys Expert – produced a sizzling 28.37 on going rated -10.
Look out too for a special run from Galway pup Newyork Sydney – with the third fastest sprint of the last eight years.
