Probably the most exciting week since the return to racing headed, obviously, by the two fastest Boylesports Irish Derby quarter final winners Ballymac Wild and Pestana.
Next stop – two track records. Bull Run Norris – three races, three mentions in this column – at Kilkenny. Plus another name previously flagged up, Droopys Curio at Waterford
Although not a track record, Priceless Jet clocked the fastest 525 of the year at Limerick. Trip To Japan now has the fastest sprint time at Tralee in 2020.
Regular readers will recall Graham Holland mentioning a young unschooled litter that he loved the look of. Well at least one is already showing up as something special, 17 month old Riverside Anchor, FOW at Clonmel. Look out too for Dana Point.
Although Galway don’t run many 575s, she was still fastest over c&d in 11 years. At the other end of the scale, Lingrawn Brae wasn’t the fastest of the week, though a 29.53 at Mullingar is still a handy return for a dog of five years and five months and celebrating his 105th outing!
