A fantastic weekend of racing starting with a fantastic win for 6-4fav Broadstrand Bono (formerly Droopys Brain) in the Dublin Coach Juvenile Derby at Shelbourne Park. It was the seventh win in 15 races for John Linehan’s dog with litter sister Droopys Hunch back in fourth.

The following night saw the ultimate hero local hero Rockybay Foley become the fourth greyhound in 75 years to defend a Laurels title. Kieran Lynch’s dog joined Spanish Chestnut (1949/50), Knockrour Slave (1979/80) and Mr Pickwick (1997/98) on the doubles board. It was the veteran’s 25th victory from just 34 races.

On Sunday night the Munster Juvenile got underway at Clonmel. Although Aimount Act was marginally quickest on the clock (28.98), the nomination goes to the three month young, and only two spots slower, Emers Tiger.
