Skywalker Logan was by far the most high profile winner of the week in Ireland with another exceptional performance to win the Corn Cuchulainn. The second Shelbourne nomination goes to a dog on the same undercard, Jan ’18 pup Sweep The Yard, following a 29.47 run for the 550.
With the Boylesports Irish Derby imminent, interest in the provincial tracks will cool in the next six weeks and early signs of the dross have started to creep in. Conversely, puppy Outnumbered continues to look a star for the future after another impressive win in the semis of an unraced stake at Waterford. Others ’18 whelps worthy of mention include Noelles Risotto, the fastest over Galway’s 525 yards this week.
Among the Slightly older runners, Lemon Patsy is one for the notebook following another excellent run at Longford. Look out too for Roxholme Wil Iam who was contesting Yarmouth Derby semi finals two years ago, but a recent veteran winner at Thurles.
