Four big finals head this week’s ‘performances’ table and all went to the leading fancies.
It started with a win for the ultra consistent Karlow Crean in the McCalmont Cup at Kilkenny on Friday.
Bentekes Bocko went unbeaten through the €80,000 Kirby Memorial at Limerick with a 28.39 run following a 28.37 semi victory.
Crafty Trivago has dominated the Cork Oaks but had to dig deep to land the final following early trouble. While at Mullingar, Vivaro Swift completed a four timer to land the Wallace/Murray Irish Cesarewitch.
Elsewhere, there were fastest of year ‘525s’ for Talking Tactics at Drumbo and Black Eyed Peppa at Longford, plus the quickest sprint at Dundalk for Old Fort Mill. With no outstanding performance at Lifford, the nod goes to the fastest sprinter of the week, Smurfing Convoy at a month short of his fifth birthday
