Two stakes have dominated in Ireland in the last week. The GAIN 600 reached semi final stage on Saturday and fastest semi final winner Lenson Blinder did something that not many dogs in training are capable of, giving a start and beating to Clonbrien Prince.
Meanwhile in the Irish Sprint Cup at Dundalk, Ardnasool Jet, the defending champ and potential runner in the Bresmed Northern Sprint, landed the fastest semi final. The track gets a second nomination this week following the fastest 525 of the year by the promising young hound Boulevard Mist.
Elsewhere, Waterford, there was another fine run by Rockmount Sid in the unraced stake – Kilmacdonagh clocked the fastest semi in the Cork Oaks – Azzabi landed the unraced bitch stake at Newbridge – Pudgie Budgie clocked the fastest Kilkenny 525 of 2019 in the McCalmont Cup qualifiers – and pup Magical Cormie went quickest over Galway’s standard.
The performance of the week though was surely puppy Ballymac Tas’s 27.97 run for Limerick’s 525 yards, just two spots outside College Maybe’s track record.
