A second Irish St.Leger, with a second ‘Clonbrien’ for Graham Holland as James and Muireann Murphy’s Clonbrien Treaty landed the Willwego.com sponsored event. Treaty was completing a six-timer and had kennelmate Swords Rex just half a length away in second.
The meeting also included a new 600 yard track record for Blackstone Lacey with a 32.05 run.
It was a good weekend for Martin Gleeson with Whyaye Bonnylad clocking the fastest semi final of the National Puppy Stake in 28.27 while on Friday night, kennelmate Droopys Mandolin completed her unbeaten through the Galway Oaks. Her three victories were clocked at 29.39, 29.40 and 29.39.
The oldest line of form is last Sunday’s Munster Juvenile Derby where Faypoint Harvey led home litter brother Faypoint Sean by half a length with Annual Coco completing a tricast for Graham Holland. (Coco went on to win the bitch’s stake at Limerick on Saturday.)
Last, but not least, there was a whole string of interesting performances by ’22 whelps at Tralee on Saturday with Fire Height Tara the pick over six bends. Check them out.
