Pat Buckley’s puppy Ballinabola Una was the fastest first round of the Willwego.com Irish St.Leger, which got underway at Limerick on Saturday.
It was the joint second fastest time over course and distance this year; only Deadly Style (29.45) has gone quicker.
The Irish Puppy Oaks semi finals took place at Shelbourne Park on Saturday night where Scooby Countess went quickest with a 28.20 run. (On the Saturday following the official retirement of Droopys Sydney, he sired EIGHT of the 11 Shelbourne winners).
At Mullingar, Pavillion Fire, a littermate to Romford match runner Bubbly Inferno, proved him ability over a shorter trip when equalling the fastest 400 yard time of the year in the Fair Warrior Open 400 second round.
At Derry, Michael Corr’s Velvet Jenny clocked the fastest 525 of the year to date, 28.82.
