The appropriately named High Trend capped over another fabulous night for trainer Graham Holland by landing the Irish Laurels at Cork.

Having sent out four winners last Saturday, the Golden kennel (location and current form) sent out six including the big race in which Trend (8-1) was the least fancied of Holland’s trio of finalists. The best run on the night though came from the dog who thrilled Towcester punters for six week in the summer, Swords Rex whose 28.15 was a couple of lengths quicker than the big race winner.

With the St.Leger approaching, Holland’s Clonbrien Treaty was a spot slower than last week’s winning kennelmate Gaytime Hugo when landing a trialstake in 29.57 at Limerick. (The fastest of year is Annagh Bailey’s 29.50).

The Murt Leahy trained Droopys Nice One reversed from with Glengar Elvis to land the €5K Yvonne Barry 600 final at Shelbourne.

Sporting Jay clocked the fastest sprint so far this year at Drumbo Park on Saturday night – though a mention too for Feb ‘22 pup Westway Lucy with a 28.53 run over the 525. She is out of Distant Lucy, dam of Distant Podge, Distant Emma etc.

It was impossible to split So Its Rapid and Scarborough Fair who clocked identical times in the first round of the 400 yard Fair Warrior Sprint at Mullingar.
