The main event in Ireland at the moment is the Browne Memorial Kingdom Derby at Tralee where there were a string of good second round performances on Friday night including Disco Pants (28.37) and Ballymac Finn (28.40). Quickest on the night though was Austin Whelan’s Stream Of Sydney with a 28.35 run. It was a fifth win in 11 races for the Kennedy Cup winner.
Meanwhile Clonmel are staging the Rural Kennels Open Unraced and there is some cracking talent on show. Quickest in the first round was Droopys Racer – the latest of the Droopys ‘car’ litter with a 28.49 run. A mention too for Horseleap Nelly at Mullingar with the fastest 525 yard run in 16 months.
