At Galway, puppy Velvet Blaze produced the year’s fastest over the standard – 28.61. High St Jesse’s 28.20 is the fastest 525 seen at Waterford in almost two years and gets the nod over the (less used) FOY 575 for Houdini Lee. Aoifes Melody is the quickest hound over the Lifford 550 course in 2016. Looking further still, Jaytee Patriot recorded the fastest 725yd run at Kilkenny in four years last week.
