During the Boylesports Irish Greyhound Derby over the next month we will be talking to a whole host of connections with a view to getting their inside opinion on the competition. Here are the views of Adam Matthews as he considers the Saturday night runners.
SATURDAY
I think the NAP of the first round is Kilgraney Sydney (heat 20). Drawn in his beloved red jacket Sydney can make all in style.
Next Best on the night would be Maries Wedding (heat 16). This lightly raced bitch recently clocked 28:23. She’s a top performer when on song and could well be very hard to beat here on her comeback.
The Champion Puppy 550 winner Vincenzo (heat 23) looks likely to make all from the fast-finishing Sentimental Lad in heat 23. An exciting dog who seems to be constantly improving, having spent the early parts of his career in England.
Callaway Masters (heat 22) and Bockos Crystal (heat 14) also represent value on Saturday nights card. They can back up their recent successes in HQ.
