Nottingham racing manager Jason Smith reckons Ice On Fire is the one they all have to beat after Jimmy Fenwick’s runner clocked the fastest semi final of the Bookmakers Puppy Classic on Monday night.
He said: “He should blast clear from three, I would imagine that connections are delighted with that (draw). Of the others, Kevin’s dog (Headford Ranger) must have a decent chance though I would have thought he would have been better off drawn closer to the rail.
“Roxholme Dolly is a serious contender too but she is even more badly drawn on the outside as a genuine middle seed.
“All things considered though, it has been an excellent competition with the best three dogs in it all reaching the final.”
