Kevin Hutton’s Signet Otis smashed the bars down in semi final 1 of the BGBF British Derby and ran out a resounding 6 length winner over Jimmy Gaskin’s Bernard in a fastest time of the semi finals 2864.  Patrick Janssens Fabulous Azurra drifted markedly in the betting eventually going off at 7/2 however he made light of the drift to win semi final 2 by 1 1/4 lengths in 2885 from Kevin Hutton’s Sleek By Design.  Kim Gooding’s Shockwave Amber pulled off a big shock in semi final 3 , sent off 14/1 outsider of the field she ran out a 2921 length winner by 1 length over Liz McNair’s King Louis in a race which was marred by crowding and trouble.  Phil Milner owner of Keefill Arthur who was knocked over rounding the final turn told me “All appears well with him really and thankfully it wasn’t any worse than it was.  He’s a bit roughed up but he’s a tough lad and will be fine.  We’re a bit gutted really as he was really motoring and in great form with himself”.  Draw for next week’s final is below.
