Debutant Tommys Lord (Godsend-Loughlea Rosie, Jun 14), a 28.23 trialist at Towcester, won the night’s first maiden with a near seven length win over Jet Stream Force. His winning time of 28.31 was joint second fastest of the year with Forest Twilight, and only bettered by kennelmate Face The Blade.
Earlier Forest Todd (Forest Simon-Forest Rhythm, Jun 14) (5-4f) had made all to land another maiden in 28.49. In the 509, evens favourite Jet Stream Sound (Premier Fantasy-Swift Ash, Nov 12) took his recent buckles with Swift Europe to 2-2 with a short head 29.93 win.
The four-timer never looked on with Magical Riley going to tarps at 6-1. On a bad night for the layers, the £200 winner’s prize went to Phil Simmonds’ 4-5f Newlawn Peter (Crash-Ms Crossfire, Feb 14) with a trap to line effort in 28.36 for the 480m.
