Hove staged qualifiers for four fabulous open race competitions on Saturday night headed by the Coral TV Trophy in which Antigua Lava’s 955m track record was first equaled by kennelmate Blueberry Bullet and then bettered by her litter sister Space Jet. Defending champ Aayamza Royale also qualified for her third final.
Three local runners qualified for the final of the Coral Brighton Belle headed by Richard Rees’ Whats Up Eva with the fastest 515m run of the year to date.
Milton Pepe and Deelish Frankie – fifth and first respectively in the recent Monmore Puppy Derby clocked the fastest two times in the Seasons Scaffolding Puppy Cup.
The big surprise in the Coral Sprint Trophy was the defeat of Crossfield Dusty though the Northamptonshire Sprint winner still made it through to the final. Both semi finals went to kennelmates Ballymac Slapup and Signet Goofy.
