Holiday confusion sees Hove delay entry

Hove have put back entry deadline for Thursday’s opens to Tuesday lunchime.

Assistant RM Jeff Piper said: “Some trainers may not have realised that the open races scheduled at Hove on Thursday (31^st August) were due to close on Monday 28^th August as it is a Bank Holiday and as a consequence we are holding over the closing date until Tuesday 29^th August.

“The races are 500 Maiden (heats), 500 metres, 515 metres, 695 metres, 500 metres puppies, 285 metres Maiden (for greyhounds which have not won an open race) and 695 metres maiden (for greyhounds which have not won an open race over 6 bends).
