Derby third Hiya Butt will be aimed at this year’s East Anglian Derby – fingers crossed.
Assistant trainer Mark Keightley said: “I hate predicting events as though they were in tablets of stone, but all things being well, Yarmouth is definitely on the agenda. Before then, the plan is for the Sunderland scenario, but this is a dog who won’t shy away from racing. He takes it in his stride. I don’t think we would run him in the East Anglian Challenge, but we would take him along for a couple of looks at the track because he needs a couple of looks as the first and third bends, given the nature of how close he rails.”
The East Anglian Derby due to conclude on September 14, will be preceded by the Fosters East Anglian Challenge (Saturday Aug 6/ Wednesday August 10) – final night will include a full open race card. However the first opens of the season will be on Wednesday July 20 with the track shifting their graded card back 24 hours to cover for Crayford which will be undergoing track works.
Tghrainers are reminded that the track hold their greyhound sale next Thursday (June 30) when 32 lots go under the hammer.
