18:09 – 460m – A5

We kick off with a middle grade A5 event and SHES MY DREAM in 3 will be looking to ping out and set the pace.

She’s had just the two runs on these shores and won last time out so there’s every reason to expect there’s more to come, which makes her top of the list.

TINKSTHEPOACHER has been running in a higher grade recently but hasn’t been able to hold off her rivals while SALTHILL DUKE pinged the lids last week and won well but isn’t always so alert at trap rise. I see him and KILARA CAMELOT coming together during this race.

The latter does things the hard way and, despite often being well supported, doesn’t boast a very attractive strike rate but would be a huge player with a clear run.

Selection – She’s My Dream (3)

18:28 – 460m – A6

An A6 event up next and five of them raced in this grade last time out. The exception is HEMERA in 1 who is seen to best effect when hitting the front.

She’s drawn inside of FURIOUS FALCON who disappointed after hitting the front earlier this month, considering she’s all stamina, but looked to need that outing. The general concensus is that 16 weeks out of season is peak but while she’s only 12.5 weeks out, she makes the shortlist.

CRAGGIE BOY is likely the pace angle here but I think he’ll need a bit of trouble in behind to win while BLACKROSE MANE will be popular once more but doesn’t seem to have much track craft.

The wide runners of SLIPPY THELMA & OISHI BLUE DUB faced off last week with just a length between them and neither showed their best from the traps.

Selections – Hemera (1), Furious Falcon (2), Blackrose Mane (4)

18:43 – 460m – A11

Low grade action here and BLACKROSE BOMBER in 3 was sent off 6/4f in this grade last time out but finished last following a slow start and crowding on the run up. That came from this trap so, although a better start is expected, I’d worry about the run to the bend again.

BLACKROSE BORIS ran against BLACKROSE BOMBER last time out, as did POOKIES MIKEY in 1. The pair finished 5th and 4threspectively but POOKIES MIKEY looks to be better drawn with a runner between him and BLACKROSE BOMBER this time round.

FIELDVIEW CHIEF and GREENCROFT SNOWY both have experience on their sides and do their best work late. Both turned handily in recent outings which makes them players.

Selections – Pookies Mikey (1) , Fieldview Chief (2), Blackrose Bomber (3) , Greencroft Snowy (6)

18:58 – 460m – A7

A7 action now and three of the six were sent off as favourites at this level last time out.

My initial attention leaps towards the outside where UNLIKELY HANNAH in 6 appears the one to beat. She was formally racing in better company and showed some of her old spark on her penultimate run, although was sixth last time out when sent off jolly.

PENNYS SIENNA, AGINCOURT and RUN EM RAGGED each have their merits but ABBOTS PARK in 1 probably has the best draw in the race and looks set to secure a good position as they round the first bend.

He might be a bit slower than some down the back straight but runs the final couple of bends as well as any here so would be my idea of the winner. I can’t see how the outside boxes can get a clear run but UNLIKELY HANNAH is on the slip in case she does.

Selections – Abbots Park (1), Unlikely Hannah (6)

19:18 – 550m – S1

Top grade action here and our first look at the 5-bend distance and SOME DANCER LEXI won at this level last time out. She’s lightly raced and a really nice type when getting on the bunny but most of these runners could get out in front.

It’s SAVANA JIMBO in 2 that I like despite being beaten by SOME DANCER LEXI last time out. He’s arguably the quickest runner in this field but it’s a lottery as to how they’ll round the starting bend.

He’s capable of winning from off the pace as is BLACKROSE HENRY in 4, who is another runner with a chance and another one who was behind LEXI last time out.

The percentage call here though is to play SAVANA JIMBO and SOME DANCER LEXI as I think whoever can lead of that pair should land this.

Selections – Savana Jimbo (2), Some Dancer Lexi (3)

19:36 – 460m – A7

RYDER IZZY is the only puppy in the field and has already won at this level. She’s surely a faster bitch now so I give her a good chance, although her penultimate run was a bit disappointing after turning handy.

On her inside in 3 is GREENCROFT HAWK who will be there or thereabouts at the business end so has to feature on the slip. His last win at this grade just three runs back came when getting the better of BOBS DUKE who is seen here in 1. He might just have a nice draw on the rails but he’s not the most likely winner.

BLACKROSE FEE in 5 is fairly consistent on the clock but will need some luck in running

Selections – Greencroft Hawk (3), Ryder Izzy (4), Blackrose Fee (5)

19:56 – 460m – A5

This race looks to about early pace which suggests that SAVANA CHELSEA in 2 might just be the best drawn runner.

SLIPPY BERTIE in 6 is the youngest runner but has the fastest recent time, albeit it in a trial. I’m not sure he’s ideally suited to 6 so his opportunity could come another day but, if he is able to stay straight, they won’t catch him.

Selections – Savana Chelsea (2), Slippy Bertie (6)

20:17 – 460m – A9

The finale is an A9. It looks fairly open but it’s worth mentioning that both WAIKIKI LADY and BLACKROSE OILY have been well supported recently at this level. Neither have had any real excuses so I’d be happy to take them on.

MADABOUT STEF probably should have won last time after leading but was two lengths up on BLACKROSE OILY that day. She’s usually slow into stride but is capable of going quicker than that day so is included, although doesn’t win often.

In 5, FASTNET JOAN is only on her fifth start but it’s her first in A9 after being downgraded. She’s had excuses and I think she has a chance of turning handy with a level break.

GREENCROFT BUDDY in 3 is another on the downgrade and, while there are probably faster dogs here, he could just skip round in front and make the others work down the back straight

Selections – Madabout Stef (1), Greencroft Buddy (3), Fastnet Joan (5)
