Henlow have delayed closure of Sunday’s opens, with racing manager Paul Mellor baffled at the lack of entries.
He said: “We keep hearing how much owners want decent prize money. Yet we have a 460 metre one-off puppy open worth £1,000 to the winner and haven’t filled it. We are also still looking for runners in puppy and 692 metre competitions worth £750 to the winner for two runs, and a sprint competition worth £500 to the winner. All entries will now close on Thursday at 12 noon.
“I really thought that with so many other competitions coming up between now and Christmas, screened on RPGTV, we would be inundated with entries.”
