Farran Heaslip, which suffered what was thought a career ending injury at Newcastle back in February, came through his first race in impressive fashion at Nottingham on Monday.
Pat Rosney’s runner found early trouble as the leader Dolcino Rose went clear. However he changed gear down the back straight and went on to score a five length victory over El Salvador in 29.64sec, the fastest time of the night.
Pat Cowdrill’s railer Express Master overcame an awkward trap four draw in the second division to make all the running and hold local runner Droopys Fellaini by a neck in 29.88sec.
Cape Impact went fastest in the Stadium Bookmakers sprint heats over 305 metres.
Chris Allsopp’s runner flew out of the traps and was soon well clear. He went on to beat My Spanish Place by almost seven lengths in 17.63sec.
Another veteran Lemon Pluto was soon clear in the second division and went on to beat Fired Up Johnny by just over two lengths in 17.70sec.
There was a good run from My Mate Max in the Stadium Bookmakers Puppy Stakes over 480 metres.
John Mullins’ runner was soon clear and went on to register a four length victory over Fred The Shred in a decent 28.53sec.
Oaks runner-up Bromwich Sue trialled back over 500 metres before racing clocking a decent 30.17sec.
The quickest time over the standard trip went to General Sherman, who returned 29.89sec.
Best over 305 was Sarah Spillane’s Killure Tiger, who returned 17.77sec.
