Trainer Pete Harnden features on BBC Radio Nottingham at 7.50am on Friday morning. The station is following up a previous story in which animal rights protestors targeted Nottingham Stadium questioning the whereabouts of his ex-racers.
He said: “Suddenly, since I agreed to be the trainer’s rep at the GBGB, the protestors are out if force against me. They produced a list of 68 ‘Salacres’ runners and are questioning where they are now. I originally refused to get involved because I didn’t think I was being treated fairly.
“However, the BBC came back to me and offered to put my side of the story. I can account for every dog and have all the paperwork to back it up as confirmed in a statement by GBGB. The radio people then came to see me and checked out what we do. I explained that this is a working kennel, not a showpiece centre with everything looking immaculate. They seemed interested and very fair though I won’t know how the piece has turned out until it is broadcast.”
