Tonight’s semi finals
Give them six solo trials and it is a fair bet that Trewmount Star would clock the fastest time. This probably isn’t his track but if he gets a run, he has all the class to be in the thick of it. Improvement is expected from all the Mullins trio with You Two looking the likeliest to get a clear run. 4-6-2
A semi full of first round hard luck stories. Onthegravytrain looked very novicey, but very quick in his heat and not as unsuited to the track as some of the others in here. Savana Shay is perhaps the most obvious from that group. Still has the ability to qualify though as does Bev Heaton’s local A2 runner Ballymac Frisby. 4-3-2
It is unlikely that the final will be as tough as this semi final which contains half the heat winners and the ante post favourite. On a dozen different tracks, Slick Saratoga would start as strong favourite, he has pace to burn. But given the draw and the class of Watchhall Sid, he looks a safer bet. Expect improvement too from Droopys Buzzer. 6-2-1
