Greyhound Trader have announced their Greyhound of the Year award for 2022Antigua Sugar.

Back to back award for owners Nic & Amanda Jeal, Antigua Sugar was the first Greyhound Trader greyhound to claim Category One competition success when landing the £10,000 Juvenile Classic at Towcester in August.

Bought for £10,000 out of the Towcester ‘Pre-Derby’ Sales, the white and black bitch formerly named On Your Marks also won the Greyhoundtrader.com Stakes worth £1500 on English Derby Final night. Further notable performances of Sugar include finishing Runner-Up in the Oxford Challenge Cup over 650m, and also clocking the fastest time of the year over 630m at Monmore when winning in 37.50.

A personalised hamper including a £500 gift voucher to be used at any Greyhound Trader sales has been sent to the winning connections.

Special mentions must go to English Derby Finalist Savana Beau and Minnie Bullet who also saw Category One success this year winning the Bet365 Puppy Oaks at Towcester.

 

The greyhound sales company also revealed their ‘Grader of the Year’ Offthe Line Sham.

Bought from the Towcester ‘Puppy-Derby’ Sales back in October 2021, the brindle son of Ballymac Best and Westmead Suzie has been a model of consistency at Crayford throughout the year. Claiming a total of 15 successes. He was in fact the most successful greyhound on the graded strength of all tracks in Great Britain for owner and trainer Alison Kelly-Pilgrim.

The GBGB judging panel were also keen to recognise the efforts Offthe Line Sham, awarding him 3rd place in their very own ARC Graded Greyhound of the Year for 2022.
