The second heat of the William Hill Great North Run will be re-run as the first race on Newcastle’s Saturday’s card.
The heat was made void after Roxholme Poppy was KO’d at the first bend and ran back towards the field. She will not take place in the re-run, which at this stage is due to be contested by the remaining five.
Both qualifiers were decided by determined late finishes.
The first went to John Mullins’ Minnies Highway
The second saw a Cat 1 buckle between Slippy Maggie and Swift Hansel
Jimmy Feniwich will be doubly represented in the final of the William Hill Puppy event with litter brothers Droopys Heron and fastest qualifier, Droopys Kite.
