Ballydoyle Honey produced another sensational performance over 525 yards at Shelbourne Park in the semi-finals of the Gain Christmas Oaks on Saturday.
Graham Holland’s bitch, a 4-6 chance for the opening qualifier was only fifth turning the opening bend where market rival Follys View took over the lead and then went two lengths clear.
However the Sporting Press Oaks winner flew down the back straight and went between runners on the third turn to reel in the leader and go on to score by two and a half lengths in 28.02sec, the fastest time of the night.
There was a dead-heat in the other eliminator when Yahoo Perlena and Hovex Princess shared the spoils.
Shane O’Gorman’s Yahoo Perlena, who won on the big Night of Stars card, went clear from the opening turn but was joined on the line by Ballydoyle Honey’s litter sister, who forced the dead-heat in a time of 28.25sec.
