Poole are going into the holiday excursion business with a record breaking Golden Crest as the star attraction.
The track’s major competition of the year was not staged last year but was substituted by a £2,000 stayers event won by Romantic Rambo.
This year’s competition, back over the 450m course, carries a £4,000 winner’s prize and will be staged over an eleven day period between Tuesday March 24 and Saturday April 4
GM Shawn Spencer-Perkins said: “It hasn’t always been easy to get people to travel, but I think we made a good impression for the Track Championships last year and may have broken the ice.
“The plan is to stage supporting opens on all three nights with special deals in the restaurant.
“We also have good contacts with local hotels and guest houses and would be able to suggest suitable places to stay for any owners who fancy incorporating a few days away to coincide with the big race.”
