A shade of odds-on, he encountered traffic on the way to the first but once he had established himself in the driving seat he strode out really well to come home two and a half lengths clear of Wisteria in 27.58 for the 470 metres.
The next best was the Kath Harris-trained Fire Height Hero, who posted a 28.06 as he took control racing down the back straight in heat three, finishing two lengths up on Tyrur Linda, while Craigues Diva got the better of Aclamon Messi by half a length in the second qualifier in 28.25.
