Greyhound Trainer William Rae was found in breach of rules 152(i), 174(i)(a) and 217 of the GBGB rules of racing in that the greyhound TRISTAR tested positive for benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine, when randomly sampled at Shawfield stadium on 6 October 2017. Mr Rae was reprimanded and fined the sum of £500.
Registered owner Mr AK Winsper was found in breach of rules 2, 18(i) and 152 (i) & (ii) of the GBGB rules of racing regarding the circumstances that resulted in the euthanasia of the greyhound REVERSE BACKWAYS at Monmore Green stadium on 21 April 2017. Mr Winsper was made a disqualified person for 6 months.
Sales Agent Mr Steve Sheehan was found in breach of rules 152(i), 174(i)(b) and 217 of the GBGB rules of racing in that the greyhound SPRINGWELL CLICK tested positive for the metabolites of nandrolone at the sales meeting held at Sheffield stadium on 19 March 2017. The committee ordered that no further action be taken.
