At yesterday’s Disciplinary Committee Hearings the following professional trainers were sanctioned after dogs in their care tested positive for 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP).
Michael Barber was found to be in breach of GBGB Rules of Racing 152 (i) & (ii), 174 i (a), 214, 216 and 217 in respect of a sample taken from the greyhound Sid The Squid on 9 February 2013 at Belle Vue Stadium. Mr Barber was severely reprimanded and fined £1,000.
Joy Andrews was found to be in breach of GBGB Rules of Racing 152 (i) & (ii), 174 i (a), 214, 216 and 217 in respect of a sample taken from the greyhound Bowtime Roz on 13 January 2013 at belle Vue Stadium. Miss Andrews was severely reprimanded and fined £1,500.
James Thompson was found to be in breach of GBGB Rules of Racing 152 (i) & (ii), 174 i (a), 214, 216 and 217 in respect of a sample taken from the greyhound Aero Apollo on 2 February 2013 at Belle Vue Stadium. Mr Thompson was disqualified for three months and fined £2,000.
