The Greyhound Board of Great Britain (GBGB) has today announced the appointment of Duncan Gibson as the new GBGB Senior Stipendiary Steward. The former Welfare and Integrity Manager replaces Paul Illingworth who, after 14 years with GBGB, is joining Entain as Head of Stadia, Commercial.
Announcing the appointment, Mark Bird, Chief Executive of GBGB, said: “A previous Stipe himself with many years’ experience at GBGB, Duncan is well-placed to become our new Senior Stipendiary Steward. He has an excellent working knowledge of our sport and is steadfast in his commitment to prioritising greyhound welfare.
“GBGB is reviewing the current deployment and roles of our field staff and Duncan will be very much instrumental in looking at the viable options and opportunities.”
Duncan Gibson said: “I am looking forward to taking on this new role and supporting our field force of Stipes. We have an excellent team and together we can ensure our trainers and stadia receive the advice, guidance and support they need to safeguard the welfare of greyhounds and uphold our Rules of Racing.”
