The Greyhound Board of Great Britain is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeremy Cooper as its new Chairman.
Cooper’s last position was as Chief Executive of the RSPCA, where he devised and implemented a five-year strategic plan. Prior to that, he was responsible for overhauling the RSPCA Freedom Food brand and relaunching it as RSPCA Assured, while turning it into a profit-making business for the first time.
Cooper said “I’m really excited to be joining the GBGB at this time and look forward to the implementation of the Greyhound Commitment. I can see that everyone at the GBGB is passionate about the sport and cares deeply about Greyhound welfare.”
GBGB Managing Director Mark Bird said “Jeremy brings a unique skill set to the Board, with experience in animal welfare, governance and for his commercial acumen. I am very much looking forward to working with him.”
Bird also thanked Robert Griffiths for acting as Chair after the previous Chair Tom Kelly retired in May last year; “Robert has helped the Board steer a steady course over the past year and we thank him for his efforts.”
The appointment will take place on 2nd July 2018.
