Following on from two high-quality renewals of the long-distance classic with finals featuring the stars of an invigorated marathon scene, GBGB wishes to express its thanks to the sponsors Entain for staging the 2020 and 2021 TV Trophies and creating a real buzz around one of the feature events of the year.

GBGB CEO, Mark Bird said: “As much as possible we want to see the competition move around the tracks, providing opportunities for a variety of owners, trainers and greyhounds.”

GBGB has, therefore, today asked for bids from any track wishing to host the competition for 2022 and/or 2023. The competition is to remain as a Category One event and must be run over two rounds within nine days and be over at least eight bends.

Due to the high number of Category One competitions already listed for 2022, GBGB has expressed a wish that the TV Trophy is run during April next year.

The deadline for tracks to submit their proposal is 30 November. After this, an industry panel will decide and announce which tracks(s) will host the TV Trophy in early December.
