Sittingbourne announced today that Gary Matthews, Wimbledon’s RM, would be joining the management team at Central Park, once the William Hill Derby has finished, to assist the racing team and to cover for upcoming holidays. This is with the agreement of the GRA and Gary will continue in his role as Wimbledon’s Racing Manager.
Roger Cearns, Sittingbourne’s Promoter commented “I’m delighted we have been able to secure the services of Gary over this difficult holiday period. With the redundancies made last year this will allow time off for my hard working racing team and also bring a wealth of experience that can be utilised to the benefit of the business”
Gary Matthews said ” this is a great opportunity for me to be a part of the continuing growth seen at Sittingbourne. The greyhound and trainer strength is strong and the quality of racing is there for everyone to see. It will be a pleasure working with the team and I’m looking forward to it immensely”
