The opening round of the GAIN Nutrition Three Steps To Victory has been put back a week to next Tuesday following a hare breakdown last night.
Racing Manager Andrew Mascharenhas was returning from holiday when the incident occurred and is investigating the cause of the issue. It has been suggested to the Star that the rail might have been damaged by stock cars.
Andrew said: “I cannot confirm that. I was originally told that it might have been a damaged hare rope though that now appears not to be the case. The hare rail that is definitely damaged but I would want to see it for myself before coming to any conclusions. We do have a robust procedure in place to make sure that vehicle damage doesn’t occur. The one thing I can promise is that everything has been thorough checked over and we have replaced the hare rope anyway. In short, the issue has now been resolved.”
