Malcolm Windrass has plenty to be proud about in the performances of Luttons Chico and Luttons Sporty, surely the oldest siblings still racing today, who have more run more than 250 races between them writes John Forbes.
Bred by the Malton-based trainer, the pair come from an April 2008 litter by Sportsman out of Pamelas Rumble and they were in action and putting up worthy performances at Doncaster on Wednesday where Luttons Chico put yet another win on his CV by taking an A5, while his litter-brother just missed out by half a length in an A6.
“It is great to see them still racing so well,” says Windrass, “and as long as they are happy going to the track and running I will take them. Chico has always been a length or two quicker than Sporty, but I think he might be better suited by 450 rather than 483 these days as he is getting on a bit like me and I will probably grade him on over that trip. He is as attached to me as I am to him.”
