Bear with me a second – just calculating the Newcastle profits on the night. It won’t take that long. There, done! ZERO. I wonder whether Jock Jimmy, Geordie Jimmy and Steve -£100 Anderson carry organ donor cards. . . . .because at least we could use them for spare parts! 3 x -£100.
Not that two thirds of the Brumagem posse have a lot to shout about. Well done Robert Short – £60 profit. Who saw that coming?
So – Paul Gebhard and Hannah Prince (2 x -£100) you can spend the next seven days practicing the following phrase for whenever you bump into Robert: “Rwy’n addoli’r tir rydych chi’n cerdded arno”
Which translates from Welsh as “I worship the ground you walk on”
NOTTINGHAM
It’s not a case of – Will the Big Lad win again? More like- How much this time? Should I order the new car? In fact, all three had winning nights last time out.

Kilara Loch (R12 T4) Strong running dog who was an A1 winner at Doncaster for Alex Hopkins in July before transferring to the kennel of Anna Thompson here at Nottingham. Run a pleasing enough race on Notts debut last week when finishing fourth beaten 5 lengths in a high class A1. Drops to A2 this evening and with that run under his belt and with potential improvement still to come, he should take all the beating £100 win

Crack On (R1 T3) will be leaving this kind of modest opposition way behind in the coming weeks. Not likely to be any kind of a price but will be away and gone beyond recall £100 win

Newinn Jackie (R2 T5) Pacy bitch for Terry Munslow who will take all the beating if gaining the first bend lead she craves. Has run a succession of solid races just lately and lost little in defeat behind a good winner last time out £50 win.
Woodcocks Aliona (R10 T2) Phil Wilson’s bitch throws races away that she really should win at times but the make up of tonight’s 680m race should see her in a prominent position from a very early stage , it would be hugely disappointing if she can’t take advantage £50 win
ROMFORD
‘Rain Man’ Gander is in the building. By far the most consistent of this trio!

Ballymac Micko (R2 T5) is a top class dog from a top class litter and he can make a winning return to UK sand. He finished an impressive second in a high quality Irish Sprint Cup at Dundalk and he should be to good for these £100 win

I have 5 Runners this evening with four taking their chance in the Guys & Dolls which has attracted a very strong field and of course, Our Boy Seamus is in a very hot semi-final of the Puppy Cup. All dogs are well and I’m hopeful of big runs from them but rather than totally ruin their chance of tipping them! I’ve gone for Steven Anderson’s runner in the third semi-final of the Puppy Cup at 8.38. Bramble Oliverj (R9 T3) looked to be turning in a handy position last week behind Bubbly Magnum but for being badly bumped at the first bend, he certainly showed determination to get up for second. A draw closer to the rails in white can only help and I fancy him to break smartly and make all. £100 win

We have six runners tonight including two in the same heat of the Guys And Dolls (R5), Playbook (T2) and Jesses Sister (T3). It looks an idea draw for Jesses Sister, but I don’t like to tip against our own dogs. We also have two in the same semi final of the Puppy Cup (R9) in Our Lucky Lee (T1) and Antigua Bruiser (T4). I think they will both improve and I would expect at least one to make the final, possibly both. Sober Express (R11 T3) and Tiffield Maximus (R12 T1) are outsiders in the Champion Stakes and again I would hope for at least one finalist.
So my only selection for the night is Antigua Romeo (R2 T1) who is having his first race since shoulder and toe problems back in March. Before the injury I thought he was one of the top two or three middle distance dogs in training and he will be our no.1 Derby fancy. We have seeded him rails on the basis of his Romford trials, though I think he goes to the bend in a straight line. £100 win
