Compiegne Hope is a youngster rapidly making a name for herself at Sunderland. An April 2014 daughter of Taylors Sky and Ickledo Miranda, she completed a four-timer for Graham Strike’s kennel on Friday by taking an A2 very comfortably in 27.75 for the 450 metres and there should be more to come.
She started out by running second in an A5 in September, but has been climbing the graded ladder rapidly since and her overall record now stands at five win from eight starts and she has been runner-up in the other three.
Paddy Derwin scored a notable double at Sunderland on Friday when he landed two A1’s with litter-brothers Tullig Hailstone and Tullig Lightning, June 2013 whelps by Kinloch Brae out of Tullig Paula.
Tullig Hailstone made all to get the ball rolling, winning by a length in 27.57 for the 450 metres and fifty minutes later Tullig Lightning came with a good late finish to snatch victory in his race by half a length in 27.70.
Steve Carrington was the man in form again at Kinsley on Friday when the Doncaster-based trainer racked up a five-timer. Smooth Hound started the party when he lived up to his name with a facile success in an A3 at 3-1 and then followed wins for So Do I (11-4), Clonavaddy Hazel (9-4), Snaffi Ann (5-2) and Clearys Bridge (6-4).
Perry Barr record holder Drumkeen Oyster (Hondo Black-Eyepad, Aug 13) took his winning sequence to five with a 28.22 victory over the 480 metres course on Friday.
